Glittering lights,rocking music,glamorous stage,appetizing aroma food ,fascinating ambience , gorgeous ladies and handsome gentlemen that is what one one witnessed by stepping in AMEER UD DIN MEDICAL COLLEGE on 25th may ,2013.This was the most awaited evening of the year,the annual dinner and the dramatics night.Along with the tough routine work ,as expected in a medical college ,the ameerians worked tirelessly to make this event successful and memorable.All the organizers and directors worked as a unit to present the best out of it .The event began at 7:30 pm as scheduled.Guests from AMC/PGMI/LGH were warmly welcomed by the students.The Principal was presented with the bouquet of flowers.
Recitation of Holy Quran and Naat marked the beginning of the event.Hosting was done by Haseeb Akram and Afifa ashraf
Short skits were the heart of the event.The first skit presented by M.JAWAD,ALI NAUMAN and MARYAM demonstrated the way professors take viva of students in medical college.The basic idea was that male teachers usually favour female students and neglect male students.Although this is not true in daily life but the comic skit was presented in such a way that it received a huge round of applause from the audience.
The second skit was presented by ubaid ur rehman, muhammad ali ,m.jawad,shumaila ashraf ,umair irfan and ali nauman. This was again a comic play which reflected a serious issue of society that how doctors neglect their responsibilities.The idea was presented by showing that senior doctors leave the patients onto the junior doctors who take out a kidney of the patient for the sake of money.When a senior doctor gets to know about this incident ,he demands his share.Although this is something serious but the way it was presented ,it penetrated the heart of every person watching it and forced everyone to smile.
The third and the most favourite skit was a parody. Ubaid and Abdullah cheema received a huge appreciation from the audience for the act.The audience response after watching this skit was diverse.It not only comprised of clapping ,but also consisted of hooting ,whistling and witty remarks.A talk show was presented in which ubaid was the host and Abdullah did parody of various politicians like Nawaz sharif ,Imran khan ,Ch Shujat ,Sohail warraich and Bilawal Bhutto.
Lastly a dance was presented by Jahanzeb and Ali nauman with the full assistance from asif naeem, ubaid, jawad and abu bakr on stage.This dance truly depicted the importance of teamwork because without the help of jawad, abu bakr,ubaid and asif naeem malik this dance was impossible although they were not visible on stage due to darkness.A flood of UV light on the boys in darkness was an eye catching scene.The dance was simply amazing and everyone was amused by this act.
As the dramatics night was the last event of AMC students week so winners of different events of students week were also appreciated by principal and were awarded with certificates.Furthermore certificates were also awarded to the Organizers and Directors of students week.
This was not the end of the event.The arts and photography society of our college (AMCAPS) presented its two short movies.The first one MOMENTS DE ADMC and the second one GARDISH E AYAAM. The Presidents of AMCAPS were given great appreciation.In addition AMCAPS captured the whole event successfully.
That marked the end of Dramatics night but the most awaited annual dinner was still there.The guests moved towards the lawn where dining tables were arranged.In the dazzling lights,the buffet was arranged.Typical pakistani food was on the menu.Delicious Biryani and chicken curry along the mouth watering BAR BQ with raita and salads were enjoyed by the people.
